As a Student Leader (in Student Council and Infocomm Club), there were opportunities for me to learn from industrial leaders on how to be an effective leader to positively lead and impact my peers.
Ngee Ann Poly Youth Leaders Camp
I participated in this 2-day Leaders Camp hosted by Ngee Ann's Student Ambassadors on the 21st and 22nd June 2023. During this camp, I learnt about my Behavioral Types through the DISC (Dominance, Influence, Steadiness and Conscientiousness) Profiling tool.
I have learnt how to manage projects effectively and collaborated with other leaders from my school to plan for the upcoming Teachers' Day event.
This camp allowed me to forge new and stronger friendships with peers from my school as well as other student leaders from other schools around Singapore. Truly a memorable experience indeed.
Infocomm Media Clubs Student Leadership Conference
I participated in this conference two years consecutively, as well as the 'Leadership in Action' workshop, both hosted by the Infocomm Media Development Authority of Singapore (IMDA). The talks by industrial experts in Singapore, particularly Jianhao Tan from Titan Digital Media, as well as Xiong Lingyi from 01 Studios (WahBanana!), enlightened us on how they manage their businesses and what tools/skills they used to grow and become leaders in the industry.
The 'Leadership in Action' workshop was a hands-on workshop, allowing Infocomm Club Leaders like my peers and I to learn different apps and technologies to help us in our CCA, and with this experience we were able to train our club members.
